8. Governing Law
Any claim relating to the School’s website shall be governed by the laws of the School Owner’s home jurisdiction without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
9. Instructor Status & Agreement
All SEATED RHYTHM™ and TAP TIME™ Instructors—whether contracted through Satron Group, LLC, doing business as Active For Life (AFL), or operating independently outside of AFL—are classified as independent contractors..
This designation affirms that instructors:
- Maintain control of their independent contractor status
- Are responsible for personal tax obligations
- Maintain required certifications
- Comply with AFL methodology standards
- Adhere to policies of host facilities
This relationship does not constitute employment, joint venture, or clinical affiliation.
Failure to adhere to program doctrine, brand integrity standards, or professional expectations may result in immediate suspension or revocation of certification privileges.
10. Certification Eligibility & Maintenance Requirements
Purchase of a SEATED RHYTHM™ or TAP TIME™ certification course does not, in itself, confer authorization to teach the program.
Any instructor — whether contracted directly through Active For Life (AFL) or participating as an external/in-house certification candidate — must successfully complete all required components of the certification process and receive their certificate before being considered certified or legally permitted to teach.
Certification requires:
- Agree to Terms and Instructor Agreement
- Successful completion of required worksheets and quizzes with passing results
- Submission of final video evaluation(s) demonstrating doctrinal competency
- Demonstration of AFL cueing methodology and rehearsal structure
- Demonstration of safe scaling across care levels
- Adherence to AFL professionalism standards as outlined in this manual
The video submission serves as the final assessment of instructional readiness.
The Active For Life representative facilitating training will provide guidance regarding submission requirements. Instructors may be required to submit multiple videos if doctrinal standards are not met on the initial submission.
Failure to submit the signed Instructor Agreement and required video assessment will result in denial of certification. Without certification, an individual is not legally authorized to teach SEATED RHYTHM™ or TAP TIME™ in any setting.
The expectations for certification are consistent regardless of status:
- AFL-contracted instructors
- Facility-employed instructors
- Independent instructors purchasing certification
All instructors are held to the same methodological, professional, and brand integrity standards.
Certification must be renewed annually.
Instructors are responsible for remaining current with:
- AFL content updates
- Methodological evolution
- Structural doctrine revisions
- Ongoing education requirements
Failure to maintain annual renewal or failure to uphold professional and methodological standards may result in suspension or revocation of certification privileges. Revoked or lapsed certification prohibits legal use or teaching of AFL proprietary programs.
Closing Statement
By pursuing certification, you are not simply adding a class format to your résumé. You are joining a community of instructors committed to restoring dignity, rhythm, access, and joy to populations too often overlooked in traditional fitness spaces.
The work is meaningful.
The impact is real.
The responsibility is significant.
It is an honor to positively influence the lives of the individuals and communities we serve — and it is an honor to welcome you into the Active For Life community.
